See what you have on your hand or in front of you. You will see eyeglasses、iphone、windows、windscreens、wine glasses which all are made by glass, we have used it on all kinds of field.
Do you know Hsinchu is the most of glass manufactures in Taiwan?
Hsinchu, windy city, possesses the two most important elements, Silica Sand and Gas,
which bring economic boom for Taiwan.
The main element of glass is SiO2 , but if it is 100% SiO2 , the melting point is 2000℃,
it should add Na2CO3 to lower the melting point to 1000℃,
and Na2CO3 will dissolve in water, so it should add CaO.
1970s is flourishing era of glass industry, 80% of glass products were made by Hsinchu.
If each glass products are our kids, we would be proud of saying:「our kids are traveling all over the word.」
The transparent glass mirrored the picture of Taiwanese hard working.

看看眼前，會發現眼鏡、手機、窗戶、擋風玻璃、玻璃水杯、紅酒杯都是玻璃製成的，無所不在，
我們早已運用在各式各樣的領域裡，也早已習慣，但在使用的同時，
你們了解原來玻璃在台灣最密集的製造地是新竹風城嗎？
風城擁有兩個製作玻璃最重要的元素：矽砂和天然氣，豐富的資源造就繁盛的經濟。
玻璃的主要成分是二氧化矽，但是純矽的熔點約2000℃，因此需加入碳酸鈣使其降到1000℃左右，也由於碳酸鈣會溶於水，因此須加適量石灰石，使玻璃不溶於水，
另一個元素，天然氣，則是產生高溫製作玻璃時的重要功臣。
1970年是玻璃產業極為興盛的年代，全世界有百分之八十的玻璃成品都來自新竹，如果每個玻璃作品都是我們拉拔的孩子，我們可以很自豪地說：「我們的玻璃孩子環遊世界各地了！」。
玻璃產業在當時創造了經濟，此光澤溫潤的物質，透明地反映出當時人們努力勤奮的模樣，
為台灣帶來繁榮的景象。
現在，2017年，我們將帶有歡笑汗水的玻璃材質，
透過設計理念再次展現台灣人的美，以台灣角度看世界。
